Purple Please

I love color. So it was a strange thing that I went through a number of years in my life where my wardrobe was a gloomy cloud of black, gray and navy. Last year I was happy to see purple make a comeback in the shops and I added about 10 purple pieces to my closet. I think purple can be an any-season color (i'm no expert though, what do I know?) What I do know, is that I really like purple. I pick up remnants now and again of fabrics that I see that I really like and when I went into my stash last week I noticed that there were accidentally all these shades of purple and silver piled neatly together. So it inspired me to work on this set above and I'm hoping to carry some of these at the upcoming shows this winter.

Classic Wedding

One of my favorite parts of being a small business owner is getting to work directly with my customers. I have had the honor of putting together many orders for brides over the past years, and it is always so nice to help design a custom order and be a little part of their big day.

This is my latest custom order for an upcoming wedding. The bride is going with black, gold and cream as her colors. I had such a great time designing with this color scheme. Classy! I'm sure her big day will be just gorgeous!
Congratulations Jessica!

This was her inspiration image. Source unknown.

And these were what I came up with to match her vision.

These little flowers include vintage buttons from my Nan's button jar.

Glass beads give these flowers a little shimmer...

Tropical Drink Melting in Your Hand

My little sis was recently engaged (yay! Congrats Mima) and they have decided that a destination wedding is in the plans! I myself had a destination wedding and I can't recommend it enough! It was perfect - no cooking, cleaning or hosting, and it's like a big vacation for all your family and friends, it was wonderful! So I am so thrilled to have another trip to look forward to. A wedding is such a great excuse for a vacation, I can't wait! They've decided on Montego Bay, Jamaica - perfect - we've never been to Jamaica and it's always nice to try some place new. Have any of you ever been? Any travel tips? I'm not too fussy, give me some sand, sun and a cold fruity drink and I'm one happy lady!
