LouLouBell on the Front Page!

Here I am! Right here in the bottom left hand corner! I remember a time when it wasn't so rare to see your stuff on the front page of etsy, but since becoming a registered user many years ago, Etsy has grown by leaps and bounds! So seeing your items right there on the landing page is an exciting thing! Just last month alone there were 1,258,023 items sold on etsy, and 239,340 new members! Just in one month!

Designing for the First Lady!

What a feeling it was to be sitting at my sewing machine in my little studio, designing and sewing up the seams on some very special little bags. As you may know, the G8 Summit is just around the corner. And this year, it's being hosted in Canada. Earlier this year, Laureen Harper, wife of Prime Minister Harper, declared her commitment to promoting Canadian fashion in an article in the Globe and Mail.

Nova Scotia Business Inc., the Craft Alliance, and the Nova Scotia Designer Craft Council have partnered together on a campaign to profile the fashion industry in Nova Scotia, using the G8 women as the inspiration to put NS fashion on the national and international stage.

A committee comprised of representatives from this partnership has chosen four designers based on the merits of this campaign, and I am so excited to be included as one of the designers for this project!

I was honored to work on a one-of-a-kind bag for each of the leading ladies, celebrating their individual fashion flare!

My pieces, along with those from the other three very talented designers are showcased in collections for Carla, Michelle, Samantha, Laureen, Nobuko, Margarida, Angela, Svetlana and Geertrui at nsfashion.ca. Etsy Milestone + Giveaway!!

Well friends, today is a very big day for me! Back in 2007 I began listing my little sewing creations online at our favorite handmade market place, Etsy..... today I officially passed the 1000 sales mark in my LouLouBell shop! Yippee! I won't lie, I'm feeling pretty happy. I absolutely LOVE what I do, sewing and creating - and to have other people enjoy my work too means a great deal to me. Etsy has been such a great venue for me, an awesome community. I love that I can share my work with people all over the world, and my little bags have travelled to places I didn't even know existed! And I love that I in turn can support other artists and mompreneurs! Thanks Etsy! I want to thank all of my customers over the years for your support and business.
