Get Organized: Ribbons and Trimmins'

In search of getting my act together and finally getting my ribbons into a nice organized fashion, I came across this Martha Stewart ribbon organizer. It's really pretty, but the problem is that I need about 5 of them to fit all my ribbons. But, she also offers a 'make your own ribbon organizer' idea (thank you Martha) with a shoebox, dowel and grommets. I saw these brown kraft boxes on sale at Michael's 3 for $5, so I'm thinking a little time will be worth saving the money and making them myself.

Pretty Notions: Hand Printed Ribbon

This pretty ribbon comes from the talented Melissa and can be found in her etsy shop, melissakate. It is hand printed on organic cotton/hemp ribbon. And I don't know about you, but if I can buy organic I love it! I find organic is just sooo soft. I see a pattern of birds in my last number of posts, yes, I love the birds.  Melissa sells this by the yard and I can just imagine the time it must take to finish a yard of this by hand! Beautiful.... Check out Melissa's shop for more pretty ribbon and other delightful artwork (which I'm eyeing for my studio walls).

In the Studio: My Messy Mess

A little peek at the mess of my studio space. Zippers, ribbons (which are a constant mess, I need to find a better way to organize these, if any of you have suggestions?), fabric pieces, and oh yes, a mangy little feline on my ironing board. What space is complete without a lazy cat?
