A Rainy Saturday

Today I want to talk about my amazing husband. All around he has been such a great Father, but Friday nights are my 'night off', and he has gotten into the habit of taking our little Taylor baby through the night and let me catch up on a good night's sleep. I'm so thankful to have such a great partner in life. It's been an amazing experience for us to learn to be parents, and I look forward to everyday, learning more together.

I woke up early this morning and they were still sleeping, so I buzzed around the house trying to get as much tidying and cleaning done as I could. It's a dark, damp day today so I turned on the heat (yes, in July, blah!), lit some candles and Darren handed Taylor over to me and he went and crawled in bed. Taylor fell asleep with his bottle and as soon as I put him down, the rain started coming in buckets, which sounds awesome on our rooftop, we live in a Cape Cod with open beam ceilings, so the sound carries through when it rains really hard, followed by the most beautiful thunder! I love it!

So that was Taylor's first thunder storm, but he slept right through it! And now that the thunder has stopped, as I sit here typing, I can here Taylor breathing and making his little newborn noises in his bassinet next to me. It's the best sound in the world...
