Nice to spend a little time away from the hustle and bustle... For my bloggy friends away, here's a little glimpse into my hometown island of Cape Breton! My sister and I took a little road trip to CB this weekend with our little ones, and for travelling with babies, they were good as gold! I think we'll do this again! We stayed at our family home in the country with our Grandparents. I never take for granted how beautiful it is here, especially when the earth is turning green again and things begin to bloom...
This is Bruce. He's a bad dog but we love him anyways : )
Flowers in Nan's garden
Quilts drying on the porch deck
Cows enjoying some sunshine

I don't know what the name of this red/orange blossom bush is, but if anyone does, let me know, it's so pretty, I'd love to have one at my house.....

I can't believe that Cape Breton is so close and I haven't been able to get there since moving to Nova Scotia 2 years ago. Probably has something to do with travelling with a small child. I think that bush is a flowering quince. Not positive, but I think so.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that you were from CB! It is so beautiful there - Martin and I were just saying we need to take a trip there this summer. I also think that bush is a (japanese?) flowering quince - we bought one a couple of years ago and have it in our garden. If you'd like, I can see if we can cut a piece off and give it to you? I don't know much about plants, so I'm not sure if this would work, but we could give it a go!
